This past week one of my dearest friends in the whole world welcomed a new baby into the world. A daughter named Maddy. I could not be happier for her and the rest of her sweet family.
As a mother of two sweet girls and one of four girls myself, I know I am biased; but I think girls are simply the best.
Now, if you know me than you know that I have an aversion to lots of girly-girl ruffles and pink. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind a pop or two of pink, but it's all about balance. I like things bright, eclectic, and fun. Here are some of my favorite little girl essentials.
Bright and colorful hair clips. I love this set of handmade clips using fabric covered buttons from the pleated poppy. I feel like both my girls and I could put them to good use!
Nothing accessorizes an outfit like a pair of leg warmers. Plus, they are practical and add an extra (and bright!) layer to keep those little baby legs warm. This pair from BabyLegs is one of my favorites (who doesn't like robots?!?)

One or two bright rompers to celebrate the summer months in. I love these two options from Pink Chicken. You could wear them together or mix and match.
Every little girl needs a pair of rain boots. You never know when you'll need to jump in a puddle or head out for a backyard adventure to collect treasures. These rain boots from Hatley
are some of my current favorites

A killer hoodie is a necessity in every little girl's wardrobe. I am in love with this one made by zutano (one of my all-around FAVORITE kids clothing companies, by the way). It's bold, bright, and reversible. Kind of a triple threat if you ask me.
Hooray for little girls, and welcome to the ranks baby Maddy!!
Also, don't forget to enter our giveaway for a watercolor from one of our favorite Etsy shops, Pineapple Aisle Studio. Click here for details. A winner will be announced on Monday!

So agree! My daughter loves blues and NO frills. Could be the influence of her four big brothers but I hated lace so maybe it's genetic!
