Fabric Flower Power

I've been saving up some pretty fabric scraps for awhile now with the intention of making some fabric flowers. Well, this past weekend I finally got around to it. I used this flower tutorial posted by Kerry a while back to create these little guys.

I made my flowers quite a bit smaller than the ones in the above tutorial as my hope was to use them to make hair clips.  Because they are so small, they also took very little time to make (which was an extra bonus!!)

To attach these little flowers to my hair clips I simply used a needle and thread.  I secured each flower with 8-10 stitches and then added just the tiniest drop of hot glue (for good measure!)

I've just started playing around with this project, but I see a lot of possibilities here.  I have a variety of clips that I've been trying out- bobby pins, clips, and barrettes of all different sizes.

I've made some simple clips, but I also think it might be fun to combine a few of the smaller flowers on the same barrette for a little extra fancy flair.

More to come, but here is one of the finished clips.  I'm really happy with how it turned out.
