Handmade Onesie Art

Kate is one of my closest friends in the whole world.  She has a beautiful family and in just over a month she is about to welcome another addition to her crew.  Kate is also a crafty gal who loves to play with bright colors and whimsical designs.  This past weekend she sent me a few pictures of a recent project she took on that will unquestionably make Cindy Lou (as baby #2 is lovingly called right now) feel extra special when she enters the world in just a few weeks.

To make these cool onesies you will need the following materials:
  • onsies/clothing item that you want to jazzz up a bit
  • scissors
  • writing utensil for tracing
  • fabric
  • iron
  • some type of iron-on adhesive paper like this one from Jo-Ann's Fabric store

Kate took a few onesies that had never really been used by her first little guy and gave them an upgrade.  She found stencils online by completing an image search for "bunny applique" and "bird applique".  She then printed off these images, cut them out, and traced them onto her fabrics. Kate then used iron-on adhesive paper to adhere the cool cut-outs to the clothing items.  I especially like how she used two separate colors in her bird applique.  I think they look look so, so cool!!

Miss Cindy Lou will be one cool little lady to get to wear these fun pieces.... I can't wait to meet this sweet babe soon!!
