Cool Picture + Thoughtful Note= Postagram!

I've always loved the instagram app on my phone.  Playing around with all of the cool lighting and framing options always makes me feel like a much better photographer than I actually am.  I am consistently amazed with how the pictures turn out.  I always think about how cool it would be to print some of these pictures (instead of just looking at them on my phone); I can think of so many different ways I could use them.

Cool kid alert.  I would love to have this picture on my fridge.

Enter postagram.  I recently discovered this app and I'm pretty obsessed.  It allows you take take images from your instagram account and turn them into postcards.  You can personalize and send these personalized postcards in a matter of seconds.  The image and the postage cost a mere $1.98.  And it's charged directly to your phone.  It's kind of scary how easy this process is.

Here are five ways cool ways I'd like to put this app into action.

1. Document a trip.
Take a road trip and send postagrams to friends and family from along the way.

2. Say thank you.
Send a postagram after a visit to a friend as a thank you note (full disclosure- I can't take credit for this idea- two of my sisters did this for me after a visit to SF this fall.  They sent a picture of the three of us from the visit and a sweet note.  It's still on my fridge).

3. Share a Recipe
Send a postagram with a picture of a yummy food dish and put the recipe on the back.

4. Tell someone you're thinking of them.
Send an old picture to a friend and let them know I've been thinking of them.

5. Party!
Use postagram to send out extra festive party invites.  They would be great to put up on your fridge and even save after the event takes place.

Okay, that's all I've got for now.  Now it's time to put some of these ideas into practice.

Enjoy your day!

xo.

  1. This is an awesome idea! Thanks for sharing. I need to enter the Instagram world — I have an account, I just don't use it enough. Must change that!

  2. Jump on the boat. Instagram is awesome. I will warn you, though, it's kind of addicting and I often find myself relying too heavily on my phone for picture taking and then thinking of my camera in an afterthought....I need to work on balancing it out more.
That being said, the convenience factor of phone pics polished up with instagram is pretty awesome. And with kids in tow, convenience is a priority!
